She’d Fly

Been through so much
Suffered countless pain
But her spirit never broke
Her hope would never wane

Took me years to recover
I'd never forget what he'd done
But though as was dark and dreary
She would never run

Her energy was fire
That burned through all my hurt
During those dark, dark days
When all we had was dirt

She was fearless, she was strong
Against her I felt like a baby
Gone through way more than me
And WOULD be fine, no maybe

Even when we lost it all
And there was nothing above our head but the sky
She lived her life to the fullest
My mom would always fly
