Shimmer

A rose shimmer,
Upon the silver peaks,
Catching the white snow
And perhaps a friend you used to know,

The scarlet flare,
Shines even brighter on the miles of opaque lake,
Every inch of sky amplified appearing Oh so rare,
Rushing to your eyes images appear for your brain to take.

Patterns, a palace floor,
Blood upon the lotus petals,
The longing for just a bit more,
And a deep purple seeping into the sky a look that unsettles,

Taking the pinks and oranges from the world,
Swallowing it in darkness,
Sweeping the sky in black,
Removing the details and outlines from the world.

But from that dark do I see something new?
The spots of breathtaking light, dotting the void above me,
Brilliance from the shadows,
A rash of creation across the patterned sky.

The sky falls to the dark in a pitiful plight,
Shrouding the terrible bright,
Hiding the day from my sight,
Revealing the night.
