Little fingers make one loop, then two
Hands work together and tighten the shoe

A flip flop is easy, it makes the trip quick
One foot slides in, then the other follows it

Running means shoes that do their job right
When kicking the ball your feet keep it in sight

Straps can get tricky, but keep the toes snug
A hard day at work leaves them strewn on the rug

A night full of dancing means flats all in white
Fast and then slow under a twinkle of lights

Water spills out leaving a mess
We need to move now, soon a baby to bless

Slippers do the job, soft and cozy underneath
When the kids leave a mess, toys kicked aside by each

Hands tremble to make a loop and then two
Barefoot is nothing, that will have to do
