Shooting Stars

Ever since she was a little girl,
She’s been counting shooting stars.
“You were meant to do great things.”
She had to tell herself that,
But she never took the first step.
She never found the amazing in the mundane.
She ignored calling forth the Holy doves.
She assumed she was already filled with inner peace.
We all have our own bright gifts.
She forgot to respect them.
Ever since she was a little girl,
She’s been counting shooting stars.
“You were meant to do great things,”
She was eventually told.
Now, she was too afraid to get out there.
Her heart was constantly hurting.
She was stuck in broken silence.
“Fuck this World,” she could’ve said.
Then she escaped the madness.
Straight into the artist’s process,
She was facing death and re-birth.
She had so much love,
The great feelings fell onto her pages.
There would be hurt,
And there would also be happiness.
And that was writing.
She made that passion her World.
With a heart as big as all the night sky’s stars,
She could achieve anything.
So don’t you ever stop wishing…
For those miracles to happen in your darkness.
