Silence of the Night

The silence of the night is calling.
It echoes through the rain.
Its ambience emits a resonance.
Too vast to contain.

It bounces off the trees,
the houses,
and the birds in midflight.

It has no melody,
No symmetry,
Just a silence in the night.

You cannot try to contain it;
It's too wild and too free.
Your only course of action.
Is to just let it be.

It serenades all around it,
with a cold and deafening grace.
There is no sound, to be found, on this earth,
That could ever take its place.

And the nocturnes may try to overwhelm it,
With all their noises and their might.
But nothing is as powerful,
As the silence of the night.
