Silenced Minds Under Crimson Veils

Her young silenced mind is screaming for help
Has not learned to even ride a bike
But now somehow she’ll be a stranger’s wife?
Arrives a man ten times her age, smirking
Ignoring tears under her crimson veil
Her days of playing in the streets long gone
Instead her days of cooking and cleaning
Fill her vision, along with painful thoughts
How many children will she bear, how soon?
Will her husband treat her well? Much unlikely
There is no escape for her in this world
Her feelings are so quickly forgotten
In exchange for the others’ who despair
How could her family give her away
To marry a strange man ten times her age?
