Silent Scream

She is too empty inside for tears
Too lifeless for indignation
She perceives only hazy greys
Pieces of her want to cry out, breathing desperation
The other fractions endeavor not to be heard
Smothered
No smiles, passions, reactions; leaden eyes
She slips flatly into routine
Slumber

And nobody recognizes
This is her silent scream
