Silent Screams

And when my breath holds its self,
My heart broken beyond repair,
Words said and those still held in,
Insignificant tears turn into script,

When all is lost,
Hope is fleeting,
Nothing left to cut down,
I rebuild the rubble pain into words,

Powerless I feel,
My screams are silent,
My spoken thoughts all but ignored,
Pen and paper are my only friends,

Towering loneliness and pain,
My heart so broken,
My life all but meaningless,
The paper still listens.
