Silhouettes Ii

Orange sparks glow in the eyes of the town
in blanket-bed darkness that shields shame
as lovers and loners vent fury in full passion
idling idly by in ether-real and unreal
sweet breath salted with sweat and solace
drips fresh laundered love laced with lies
as silhouettes shift softly subtly embracing
and shadows sear on memory's mocking canvas
kiss me quick stills distilled with time to
an ideal, replayed, repeated, repainted
images with time's less timid spectrum,
and with graduating age we lose soft focus.
