Simmering Down The Day

Simmering down the day,
Looking over my garden.
Tied back the flowers, and
Planted some blue bachelors buttons.
Sun's down, summer evening.
Lightening bugs shine under the
Spreading branches of the tree in the courtyard.

My life is like that too.
May be getting late,
But I can still shine a bit.
And spread out my arms
To encompass my family.

So much work.
Now is just for me,
Just being, just living through
The eyes of my heart.
Feel such love,
Coming to and going out from me.
Connecting me with God
And all humanity,
And nature.

Oh that yet another day has passed
Beneath my feet.
Let me walk on.
