Sin Eaters

Dust to dust we collapse
In our attempts to redeem ourselves
Little do we realize
Futile and meaningless are the efforts
Of cursed beings
Yet we continue to strive
For that which we cannot attain
Making ourselves sin-eaters
A task which we accomplish
But to what end
We eat the sin and absorb it
The cycle continues
We become, no longer beings of logic
But beings of madness
Driven insane by the futility of what we do
Reconciliation to holiness
In our unholy nature
Incapable of such things on our own
We exhaust ourselves
Emotionally, mentally, spiritually, physically
Ashes to ashes we all fall down
