Sing Dirges for Home

In my youth I did depart
On this journey I did start
There be no returning to this place
I once thought would keep me safe
I'm now old and gray
And wondered many a day
In my travels I have learned
Whatever you get must be earned
And in the end when I am done
Hope they say he stayed and didn't run
