You took another sip,
and with it went my heart.
I wished that things were different,
but you tore that wish apart.

You took another sip,
and drowned more than your sorrows.
All the painful yesterdays
took away hopeful tomorrows.

You took another sip,
and destroyed my perfect world.
"Daddy, stop taking sips!"
Begged the broken little girl.

You took another sip,
and then you took another.
You took so many sips
that you forgot about my mother.

You took another sip,
as you walked out the front door.
You forgot to bring me with you, too.
I guess I loved you more.

So keep on taking sips.
Just please, take them far away.
Your presence is not physical,
but in my heart you'll stay.
