Siren's Song

Her eyes were pale blue
Moons, and her breath blew bubbles
Like little balloons.

Her hair floated like
Green algal blooms, spreading and
Reaching like smoke plumes.

Small water droplets
Adorned her face, creating
Patterns of clear lace.

Then slowly she sunk
Back into the sea, singing
Siren songs to me.

    This Poems Story

I am a seventeen year old grade twelve student from Calgary, Alberta, and I have been writing poetry for a few years now. I have over 200 poems written and writing is my passion and main hobby along with painting and photography. My inspiration for "Sivern's Song" came to me when I was acting in my high school's musical "The Little Mermaid," so I had sirens and sea creatures on the brain! I decided to put that inspiration into a poem made up of rhyming haijus, describing a mysterious nymph of the sea.
