Sit Still, My Daughter

He's asked me to wait, with His wisdom respected
To leave all to Him
But such dreams I've collected!

How can His way be better than mine?
A question that doesn't make sense
Yet all think from time to time

It will become obvious if we just wait and see
And, granted, it's hard
But perhaps it should be

To just sail through life, given all that we asked for?
No surprises to excite
Just insistence to have more?

Though we don't like to admit it, God does know what's best
Sometimes it's painful
But that's part of His test

The thought of a test sometimes is frightening
What must I do, or not do?
And answers at times are less than enlightening

To ponder is fine and questions are good
Wait though for action
God will reply as only God could.
