Sitting
Sitting in the dark
anxiety washes over me
heart thumping inside my chest
a ship stranded at sea.
Answers to questions
distorted and unaware
centering your mind
in a moment of despair.
The mind goes off in tangents
no single answer there
tried focusing on reality
to a moment without care.
And the mind wants to wander
if only the thoughts were good
but quickly replaced by the blackness
of a life misunderstood.
Alone in the same dark room
my body molded into a chair
arms wrapped around me
holding me in silence there.
