Six Hundred Nine Miles

Wonder if she's still in Fort Worth
Living alone
I just left California on I-10
Headed home
By late tonite I'll be in Tuscon
El Paso at early lite
Then six hundred nine miles to go
Before tomorrow night
I'll be at her door before sundown
Hoping she's at home
If she is I pray that she'll forgive me
for leaving her alone
I know it Hurt her the way I left Texas
for L.A.
I called her and left word that I was
leaving here today
Maybe she'll be setting on her front
when I get Home
Will she still care enough to forgive
me for what I done
