The words skinny and thin
are just as damaging
as fat and heavy.
When you grow up being told,
'You're so skinny',
you come to expect it.
You know you shouldn't worry
when the number goes up because of growth.
'You are only getting taller,
more mature,
You try to tell yourself.
But now that number is what was considered huge as a kid.
You know it's not,
but the childish thought refuses to leave.
And people keep saying,
'You're so skinny.'
But now you silently scream,
'No I'm not!'
