tonight, you'll be my sunset.

I'll melt you down
like gold
onto the horizon,
fifty shades of sunshine,
an evening crown
too good for royalty.

then I'll cast you
across heaven's canvas,
letting your rays
kiss the corners of the sky
until even the blind
are breathless.

your ombre of lights
will fade to darkness
and we will leave
the world crying.
