Small Metal Box

I swear I'm trying

You don't get it

It's an itch I can't get rid of

It's the floating in my throat

The small metal box

In the back of the drawer

Screams at me

"Come get me now"

"You know you need me"

"You are nothing"

"With or without me"

"You are nothing"

"You will always be nothing"

It's nights like these

That make me listen

To my small metal box

In the back of the drawer

The box I can't seem to throw away

No matter how hard I try

No matter how wish I wanted to

I don't

I can't

I love that small metal box
