Social Conscience Poem

I stand in front of the looking glass
Seeing my imperfect body
Knowing that no one will ever love me
That there will always be a hole in my heart
And stomach
And no matter how hard I try to stop
I just keep going
Eating as much as I can
Then throwing it back up
Over and over again
Just to make myself feel better
But it doesn't help
Because no matter how hard I try
To be like the other girls
They always remind me
That I am a mistake
In a world of beautiful people
