Solace

Watching the darkness slowly disappear
My hands gently caress the cool dewed grass.
The bright twinkling stars are still crystal clear
But the vivid hot sun still needs to pass.
The weather is quite cool and refreshing,
Now the clouds are starting to form odd shapes.
The flowers around me indicate spring.
The horizon shows where the light escapes.
I hear few birds singing their lovely songs,
While nocturnal creatures hide from my view.
Perhaps they're just shy or maybe I'm wrong
The stars fade away, I know that's my cue.
The sun ascends now, it's time to say bye
To the comforting view of the night sky.
