Solace

Sometimes I forget
Your disarming, honey eyes.
And my thoughts drift away,
To the chronology of the skies.

Reality dissolves like cotton
candy, sweet on my lips:
Look, “The darkness falters;
Yet the stars are glowing discs.”

We can typewrite them,
Our secrets in hushed smiles.
Silky heart; fractured hem.
Seconds, illicit elusive miles.

When the notes break,
My breath is not warm.
It’s lost, but no matter.
You’re my lighthouse in the storm

Open your eyes:
The waves are bleeding gold
and the corn fields are blue.
mi hai sognato?
Because I dreamt of you
