Someone Left the Door Open

Someone left the door open.
For the raven came in
To feast on dead things past.
The carrion of a life lives again and again.

Met we here before,
Avoidant, suspicious, fearful, defeated.
I stroke his head,
Smooth ruffled feathers.
Raven, my own name,
Fly away and come again and again.
