Something Wrong

If when they walk in, you want to storm off and scream,
And seeing them lowers your whole self-esteem.
If when they open their mouth, you want to rip off your ears,
And you’ve had to deal with them for so many long years.
If you want to kill them, and then kill yourself,
And the mere sight of them ruins your mental health.

If all of this happens and you just play along,
Then maybe there’s something wrong.

If under their look, you want to curl up and cry,
And thinking of them makes you just want to die.
If spending time with them, it makes your heart ache,
And at night, the tears make your whole body shake
If, alone, they cause you emotional pain,
And listening to their lies drives you insane.

If all of this happens and you just play along,
Then maybe there’s something wrong.

If, when you see their glare, it makes you run off and hide,
And you feel like there’s no one in which you can confide.
If you want to tell someone, but you’d be a bother,
And so, in the morning, there are bruises to cover.
If you’re afraid to even be in the same room,
And when they go silent, you know you face your doom.

If all of this happens and you just play along,
Then there’s definitely something wrong.
