Somewhere in Time

I sit and I stare for hours on end
Tortured with a pain I can't seem to mend
For I'm as certain as one could be
You had a brush with infidelity
I know you have secrets for which I've begged you to tell
To hear all your truths my soul I would sell
You said you've been honest and told me no lies
Yet I see something different when I look deep in your eyes
We had a great love that endured eighteen years
Now all my certainties have been replaced with fears
Somewhere in time you lost it for me
Punctured is my heart seeping with insecurity
I can't help but wonder if you even know
This very dark place for which you've let me go
I feel so helpless as to where to turn
To be held in your arms I shall forever yearn
