Songbird, Songbird,
low to the ground, must not give up.
Wings are broken, tail is dragging,
would not see the danger that lay ahead.
Tears blur the eyes, can't see a future.
Songbird, Songbird,
the promise was bright, much too bright,
the descent was sudden, much too steep.
The fall from favor started yesterday -
the landing won't be over tomorrow.
Songbird, Songbird,
find a tree, find a branch,
your wounds may heal, given a chance.
Look for a new map, a different route,
Seek your own flight to Victory.
