Sonnet 1

Diamonds and gems thou art under thy ground.
I doth wonder how thou came to exist.
Thou art sleeping and thou art safe and sound.
I think thou should come up, I do insist.

Now rubies, where do you get your color?
I think thou doth have a cool brilliant shade.
Thou shade is bright it should be much duller.
It is bright and gorgeous... how was it made?

And emerald, where didst thou get your bright green?
Your green is the shiniest shade ever.
It is the most light green I've ever seen.
I wonder, is that shade to be clever?

Now to sum up all these glorious gems.
About thou, I shalt be writing poems.
