Sonnet I

Today is a good day for singing songs
I said as I sat in the untrimmed grass
My hair exactly how I like it; long
I shut my eyes tight and let the wind pass
Letting butterflies flutter on my nose
No worries as far as the eye could see
Bumble bees buzzed as I began to dose
The butterflies then moved to my exposed knee
The sun stood proudly through the gloomy clouds
Not falling to their gloomy disposition
The birds began to sing; but not too loud
Their song mimicked a well-paid musician's
But then a sharp ringing sound filled my ears
It was the most sane dream I'd had in years
