Sonnet of Tenets

To prove the quest was not at all in vain
Whilst lasting devils race inside your head
To soothe eternal, everlasting pain
And never have you spoke a single word
To life's true unencumbered pleading soul
For silence prays potent upon your nerve
Because it's Him you truly must extol
But bright eyes dim, for you did not repent
Your sins of life from which you all were born
And soon, your time on earth will have been spent
Though your trial of tries has been forlorn
So here, dark in the trenches where you weep
He's come to give to you abiding sleep
