Sonnet To A Mouse

You are faster than a locomotive
You are sweeter than the finest dessert
Do not stop to ponder what's my motive
Do not even try to be on alert
Days ago 'member your friend I did assail
That day he was mine to slowly savor
He was so pale and pink of eyes and tail
He of divine taste and smell and flavor
I shall let you flee me only today
Or else the fun will be over too fast
I shall let you scurry from me away
Dear mouse, then you'll be this cat's meal at last
A feast for the eyes, so pretty and sweet,
I can't wait until you are mine to eat.
