Sonnet XI

The ocean, like a blanket smothers me;
I have been taken by the water now;
It stops, I fear the next thing that will be;
Try to turn the car but, it won't allow,

We swerve off the road, crash, the world goes black;
I'm running, trying to escape the beast
And trying to prohibit my attack;
Then I become aware that my teeth have ceased;

Next I'm in class and teacher tells us that
It is now time for us to take the test;
I'm not prepared and think that I might scat;
Now I'm falling, I think, I tried my best;

I quickly jolt awake and grasp that these
Are not real, just my silly nightmare tease
