Spread Your Wings

You've seemed to be that caged bird
Sitting alone in solitude wishing and daydreaming
That you could be as privileged as the other unique fowl of the air
Soaring fancy-free through the turbulent, yet seductive skies
Feeling incarcerated physically, but truthfully it is mentally
A vice grip that holds you there, while all that was ever needed
Was for you to simply spread your wings and fly

Even the wind howls and whistles as you take flight
For all of nature recognizes the beauty that you possess
From the condensing drops of dew in the morning,
Streaming to the glistening stars of the dark enchanting night

For I have myself, been awaiting and anticipating
that very moment that you take flight
So that you and I can magically interchange into.we
Together, from thence on, we could be
Birds of a feather and intimately flock together
Spread your wings and fly with me
