Spring

You say I remind you of sunlight -
Of the first morning in Spring
With light too golden and gentle
To stir the fire within

You see, it was my choice
To never burn through your skin
But to illuminate only your path
So you could walk from within.

Soon enough, autumn will come
And you will be wishing for spring
By that time, for my sake - I will be gone
But even the sun dreams, my dear

With or without you
I will follow my seasons
And dance through
The tempest of change

If you - on your own
Find the courage to walk
The path we once began
I could still meet you
At the end of the road
And there could be summer forever.
