Squeeze

It started with a sentence, and ended as a speech.
Speaking at me while your thirsty fingers turned to leech.
"We can't continue this." Your lips began to preach,
All the while your parasitic fingers seemed to reach
Around my heart, a constant grip,
Upon the table, its contents dripped.
I thought about the good times as your mouth preached the bad,
All the while your parasitic grip began to sag.
You've exhausted all its red, with nothing left to drain,
Such a squeeze has altered all my sunshine into rain.
Pardon me for crying, but sadly I'm not dying.
I'll sit and nod my head until you finish- but I'm lying,
I'll never understand why I'm the only one that's crying.
After everything we've been through and all that has been said,
Please God- please let me awake upon my bed.
