She was a heavenly body,
a suspended star.
Her light reached near, stretching far.

Watching the world, she saw many things.
The hardships and transgressions,
she saw us human beings.

And in the vault of the sky,
as the light grew dim,
she governed the darkness--
let light in.

As her pale light shone,
cold but bright,
she showed us the heavens,
and fell through the night--

one less star in the vault of the sky.
