Star Dancer

She was like the moon, unreachable
A beauty unspeakable
A chance of lightning wrapped by night
Showing a way with the deepest of lights

She danced amongst the stars so free
Passing from sight, but never memory
Not phased by the gaze of those who watched her run
Chasing her dreams of catching the sun

She reflected the meaning of life, yet at times
She let herself grow dark, hesitant to shine
Patience leads her back to her full bodied splendor
Again ready for secrets to be sent to her

A cycle of life's she shows to all
Wielding the scars of learned mortal falls
Ever more beautiful through trial and error
She unveils the night's hidden terrors

As she moves the oceans with her willful might
A strength unnoticed by the tamed parasites
There are some who notice her and appreciate
Her nature of happiness to satiate.
