Stargazing

It's 4AM and the earth is still
It's 4AM and nothing matters
Above: Freckled obsidian fourteen billion years old
Yet the freckles on your face captivate my senses
Grander than the universe

We sit- thrust through space and time
Cosmic laws dictating our every move
Your hand touches mine

Here we lay
Charmed by eons of nuclear fusion

Ancient light fueling our reverence

It's 5AM and the earth awakens
The stars disappear

I can still find them in your eyes
