Starlight Lantern

Darling, don't look now
here he comes again
the one who shattered you
into pieces so tiny
I had to give you
a half heart back.
I think of you when it rains
at night
trapped somewhere between
pitter patter.
Just a boy; he claimed he loved you
but he didn't see the stars
you hold in the cracks of
your fingers.
until all he knew was darkness.
Darling, don't look now
makeup is running down the tip of your nose.
Just a while longer darling;we're in public.
reach into your chest, search for your half heart.
So close!
To the right a smidge.
Good, stretch out your starlit hands;
use the glow to cover the cracks.
Darling, open your eyes,
you need not fear the darkness;
your starlight turns sky to galaxy.
