I look up at the stars lighting up the night.
How big and how far are not seen with these eyes.
What's sunrise on a planet a million miles away?
If we would just command it we'd rise with it someday.
The universe unspeakable its sheer destructive grace.
Our minds conceive the full light that falls upon our face.
What wonders still to ponder, have yet to strike the earth,
will dawn on us like thunder when showing us it's birth.
The men we claim unite us are furthest from the truth.
Our hate in us divides us when put to proper use.
To go beyond our limits he spoke to me and you.
We all are here to witness what real mankind can do.
What will this planet hold in just a thousand years?
Will it be just as cold as our power and our fears?
Will we fall into the sludge like those of long ago?
Or let go of our grudges and truly learn to know.
