Starting Over

Back then they could see you in my eyes.
That drugged crazed life I filled with lies.
That's why it was hard to say goodbye
To the world of drugs that ran my life.
From good to bad.
Happy to sad.
I tried to fight you everyday.
Yet the harder I fought, the stronger you portrayed.
strangling me on every breath.
You nearly brought me to my death.
Just when I thought you were dead and gone
You reached in tugged pressing on.
A little boy when we met one day.
Now a grown man I have the strength to push you away.
Your a wicked friend that never left.
I'm trading you in for a sober breath.
Starting Over.
