Staying close

When you’re around me
my words are understood,
that i have grown so close
to one who knows
helping me when you could.

being alone with one like you
makes me feel secure
problems i have
are yours as well
answers are not obscure.

when time travels pass us
we'll no longer be
still your understanding ears shall hear,
whispering problems of my aching heart
though we are not near.

your trust and friendship are so dear
the strongest, like a wife
one that shall remain, in my soul
to last me the rest of my life.
