Steamboat

The steam is rising
I’m scratching and clawing
The horn is blowing
I’m begging you not to go

You’re shaking off my hand
The rope is being pulled in
You’re turning away
I’m shouting for you to forgive
Stay! Stay!

The boat is drifting
I can barely see you now
You’re taking her hand
While I’m stuck on dry land

I’m walking away
I’m dead inside
My body is shaking
While you’re just fine

I’m waking up
I’m turning to the side
I feel you there as you grip my side

It was just a dream
I’m getting up
I’m walking to the kitchen
There, I see your steamboat ticket
