Stone Walls

The sands of time slip away,
mounting sadness on faces display,
broken hearts that have wandered astray,
never finding love to stay.

Greedy hearts longing for more,
is not love worth fighting for?
Weakened knees at the ready to fall,
building high their stone walls.

Secrets of the mind kept inside,
bellowing voices that sealed lips hide.
Stillness within and covers withal,
building high their stone walls.

Within the dark long lost dreams,
within the eyes silent screams.
Lifeless and empty one by one falls,
building high their stone walls.

Love is not welcome anymore,
building high their stone walls.
