By Beck

Mending the pieces of a shattered heart
That so many people tore apart
The fake love and lying affection
Tore through her like a deadly infection
She found strength and grew her wings
Because it's in the darkness that she sings
Battered and bleeding, she stood tall
Not going to show weakness and fall
She stood tall, with pride and a heart so strong
For she'd been locked in darkness far too long
She had victory over the Devil's snare
And now she's lured him into her lair
All the pain she had been dealt
Had made her strength begin to melt
But she was a victor, a warrior in disguise
For now in darkness, the Devil cries

This Poems Story

I wrote this poem as a source of strength for myself and any other victim of child abuse (of any form) out there, especially in your darkest of moments. It's about overcoming the pain and showing the world you aren't weak. YOU ARE STRONG AND BEAUTIFUL!!
