Strength of a Soldier

You don't understand the pain
Every day watching your brothers and sisters sprayed
It's like a deadly rain of bullets and grenades
Coming home to so much hate
You don't know what it was like every day
Barely living from minute to minute, no time to pray

Then I come home, it's almost too much to bear
Seeing the anger as the people glare
They don't notice the vacant stare
I did what I had to to make it through the scare
You don't even know the horror as the flesh tears
Compared to me, you don't have a care
