Swimming in an ocean
comprised of innocence
Devoid of emotion;
Unable to feel since
Waves of crushing guilt
fall upon my head
Like flowers that only wilt;
I too am dead
Days of childish freedom left behind me
Masking the pain with smiling teeth

That laughter oozes into my mind,
the one that flits through the air
I’ve once heard this kind
the one that doesn’t seem to care
About the pain it brings each day,
the suffering I must endure
It stops every word I say,
it drags me to the floor.

So, monsieur, the time is now,
Grab my and i’ll show you how,
And when you hear that laughter ring
You’ll be free and you won’t feel a thing.
