Subjected

He happens upon
safe environments;
uncensored and humanistic expression
light upon your face
because failure mimics succession
in a deadlier way till it all breaks
beneath you; a way that pulls you
apart like string-cheese, leaving you
open and raw in the garden
her evil offering of tree bark
so she talks him into it bare
or barely covered by leaves
I tear at my clothes in hopes
for that freedom
Get to the bottom of it
we’re all made up of the sun
of nakedness and curiosity that
leaks from our manipulated pores;
dirty from the self infliction;
In the public eye of her -
crazy
of ignorance departing from her lips
and they say it’s hard to split concrete
but earthquakes shatter hearts everyday
