Submerged

Submerged in the depths of the Ocean,
I sink in overwhelming emotion.
What care in the world for me can there be
when I am here, alone in the sea.

The swirling, storming, crashing wave
pushes me and swallows me to the grave,
but I see the depression that causes despair
is broken by the gleam of light that you share.

Skittering across the surface water,
only a sight was of what I caught her.

This Poems Story

The character is sinking in depression with the ocean as the extended metaphor of all that bears down on him, but he looks up and see the reflection of light on the skirts of the water; a woman shines her light and hope to keep him from despair.
