Submerged

Think about this
You are submerged
In a damp and foggy mist
You try to pull yourself out
But you continue to sink
Then you try to shout
But you make no sound
You are stuck
And no one is to be found
It's dark and cold
And you are completely alone
The floor begins to fold
You feel it crumple beneath your feet
Everything you need is out of reach
Your heart pounds with a vigorous beat
You are falling
You hear them calling
You don't want to go
Afraid of what it might show
You hear a familiar voice
You have to go towards it
Because you have no choice
Then you see in the darkness a hint of light
But in a flash, it disappears with fright
You shut your eyes
Say you're sorry for all of the lies
You hope for the best
And leave God to the rest
